Dr Tess Mauricio is a Board Certified Dermatologist, a graduate of Stanford University School of Medicine, and a Summa Cum Laude graduate of The University of California San Diego. She is the founder of Scripps Ranch Dermatology & Cosmetic Center and was the youngest woman to hold the position of President of The San Diego Society of Dermatologic Surgery.
Dr Mauricio is a published author, renowned speaker and physician educator. She has educated thousands across the globe in technologies she has helped pioneer, including Refirme, Triniti, Matrix RF, Velashape, Lipolite laser lipo, and VASER liposelection, and continues to be at the forefront of technological advances as a leader in her field. She was awarded the prestigious Asian Heritage Award in 2009, the US Department of Commerce Association "Best in San Diego 2010" and was named one of the Best Dressed Women in San Diego.
Less than a year after opening a new clinic in La Jolla, Dr. Tess became a Gold Medal Winner in the La Jolla Village News "Readers Choice Awards 2011" after being voted Best Dermatologist (The La Jolla clinic is currently being relocated and not accepting appointments. Stay tuned for details). She has been named one of the Top 100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the US, and was also crowned Mrs. Philippines San Diego 2011.
She is a regular on TV and in print, having been featured internationally in Cosmopolitan Magazine UK, Philippines YES, and France’s Les Nouvelles Estetiques. Dr. Mauricio is married to fellow Stanford Medical School graduate Dr. James Lee. They have 1 daughter and 1 son.
Medicine is undeniably in Dr. James Lee’s blood. His father is an OB/Gyn, his mother was a Family Practitioner, and two of his three brothers are also physicians.
Dr. Lee is a Cum Laude graduate of Yale University and earned his Medical Degree from Stanford University School of Medicine. He was awarded numerous academic honors while in medical school, including the American Federation of Aging Research Award. He has trained and performed research with world leaders in various fields of medicine and is a published author in peer-reviewed medical journals. His academic achievement is matched only by his magnetic personality. As a result, he became one of the select few medical students to grace the cover of the Stanford School of Medicine yearly handbook.
Dr. Lee is formally trained and Board Certified in anesthesiology. He is the Medical Director of Scripps Ranch Ambulatory Medical and Surgical Center. His outstanding technical skills combined with a compassionate and warm approach to patient care earned him the prestigious “Physician of the Year” award from El Centro Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Lee co-founded Scripps Ranch Dermatology and Cosmetic Center in 2004 with his wife, Dr. Tess Mauricio. He specializes in non-invasive laser treatments, aesthetic medicine, and treatment of Asian skin. Dr. Mauricio and Dr. Lee work as a team, utilizing their unique strengths and expertise in offering patients only the most advanced techniques in non-invasive rejuvenation.
Angela began her career in the field of aesthetics in 2004 when her sister Dr. Tess Mauricio opened the doors to Scripps Ranch Dermatology and Cosmetic Center. As Dr. Mauricio's office and clinical manager, she helped to build SRDCC's reputation of great customer service, comfortable atmosphere, and most importantly unparalleled results. Never ceasing her quest for knowledge, Angela continued her education and completed her nursing degree from Long Beach City College. She immediately returned to work at Scripps Ranch Dermatology and Cosmetic Center as their first Registered Nurse.
The transition from clinical manager to registered nurse has been very natural. Angela is known for her warm attitude and expertise. In fact she is a certified trainer by the laser manufacturer and has trained other physicians and nurses on how to use many of the treatments that we offer.
