Mole removal consists of 4 easy steps. First, one injection of local anesthetic is used to numb the area. Second the mole is removed with a razor blade and then light electrocautery is used to stop bleeding, if any. And the final step is applying antibiotic ointment and a spot band aid.

The mole is sent to a pathology lab to diagnose the mole to see if any follow-up is needed. Results are usually available in a week.
